There are many different types of Ferns around Mother Earth. Ferns have been around for a really long time, they’ve witnessed many changes and transformations around the Earth. They’ve witnessed many beings coming, making their journey here and going over the hedge. They hold memory of the really ancient ways. Ferns have been used as an ally for us as human beings since we first walked the Earth. Indigenous traditions all around the world still hold the knowledge of working with them. For me, Ferns are all about purification, cleansing and holding space for life to thrive.🌀
An ancient use of some of the Ferns is as a steam bath, to cleanse and purify the bodies. Some of them can also be used internally for an inside cleanse, some can be eaten as food and some to make medicine.
The Fern’s journey is as long as it is mysterious. In one way, they tell us that life is long. Despite our different journeys, each of us should learn to appreciate the ride through. In some cultures, they have been used in healing mental, emotional and spiritual conditions and also as an ally in rainmaking. For as long as humans have interacted with this plant, it always has meant something magical and spiritual to us. It can be easily felt just by sitting or looking at them. ✨️
We must remember that this plant has been around for much longer than the human race. This means its symbolism runs deep into our psyche.
Apart from purifying, and cleansing properties Ferns have been taken to symbolize life, death, rebirth, change, growth, strenght, peace, vision and protection.
