Figwort came to me in a moment where I needed to get work done. To keep the waters moving freely. A Master Plant for the emotions, specially those that we tend to repress. It brings guidance while working with the unconscious mind to uncover the parts of ourselves that are repressed and we tend to hide from. This includes old trauma or parts of us that we subconsciously consider undesirable.
Figwort is a little bit elusive, sometimes it is hard to see it, even standing right in front of it. Figwort tends to hides in its own shadow, but once you’ve met her you’ll be able to see it’s greatness. It shows us that not everything that is hidden in the shadow it’s not worthy or even bad. It actually shows us that we must dive in there, in the shadow, more often with an open heart and mind and discover it’s beautiful misteries that lie underneath.
Figwort it’s a great ally if we are emotionally unstable, overreacting to things or being too judgemental either to ourselves or to the surroundings. It helps us to be intentional about our growth, about how we approach life. Inspire us to act on our decisions.
And because all of that Figwort is a specially good medicine for skin diseases, acute skin inflammation and chronic conditions like acne, eczema, psoriase… all kinds of skin problems can be a manifestation of those repressed emotions and unprocessed traumas that we tend to hide or not deal with. When you start working with the Figwort for those types of issues, it’s possible that they can appear enhanced and turn even worse at first, this is the Spirit of the Figwort bringing up and showing all that is hidden for us to heal. Then it will help and guide us through the healing process. This is something we’ll never get with conventional medicine.
On a physical level it has been used since the old days to assist in lymphatic function. It alters the constitution and composition of blood and lymph by restoring the correct removal of cellular waste and encouraging the uptake of nutrition by the cell. It is also good for the heart and a mild diuretic, encouraging the removal of those wastes through the kidneys.
Go meet the Figwort standing in the shadow. 🏹
